A Look at Silversea’s Silver Muse

Silversea is counting down the days until the delivery of its new ultra-luxury, all-inclusive, all-suite flagship, Silver Muse. The sleek 40,700-ton cruise ship will welcome travelers starting in April 2017. Silver Muse, setting a new standard among the line’s nine-ship fleet, will carry just 596 guests: With a passenger-to-crew ratio of almost one to one and a dedicated butler catering to each suite, personalized attention will continue to be the hallmark of Silversea’s gold-standard service.
Silver Muse will have the highest number of large, upper-category suites across Silversea’s fleet. The superlative Owner’s Suite, in one- and two-bedroom configurations, will feature an expansive teak veranda with floor-to-ceiling glass doors, a living room, and a separate dining room seating six. You’ll find Etro bathrobes and slippers, Pratesi linens on the queen bed, your choice of pillows (down, therapeutic, or hypoallergenic), and a marble bath outfitted with Bulgari amenities.

Entry-level Veranda Suites are spacious at 323 square feet, plus a 64-square-foot balcony, and are dressed in a color palette of cream, saffron, moss green, and sienna. Attentive butler service, a stocked bar setup, and complimentary WiFi will be standard perks.

Reservations will be necessary to score a coveted table at MaDame, a specialty dining room developed in concert with boutique hotel and gourmet restaurant guild Relais & Chateaux. The focus here will be on a multicourse French menu that highlights fresh ingredients from the region the ship is sailing by. Sommeliers will suggest wine pairings for each course.

The menu at Indochine, the larger of two Asian restaurants aboard Silver Muse, will feature cuisine from across Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Expect authentic Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese fare as well as Indian and even Indonesian options.

Kabuki, the ship’s Japanese restaurant, has two faces. Though the spot will quietly serve sushi and sashimi by day, it will transform into a traditional performance-style teppanyaki house when the sun goes down. Chefs will showcase their knife and food-flipping skills as they prepare a variety of meat, fish, vegetable, and rice dishes for diners at the griddle station. Because of the limited number of seats at this eatery, reservations will be a must.

Silver Muse’s Atlantide is a hip bar and grill where plenty of tables will command a sea view. The menu puts seafood at center stage (though steaks will be available as well). Look for creative dishes incorporating ingredients like royal crab and blue lobster.

Inventive and tasty tapas, live music, and a dance floor will set Silver Note apart from the other dining venues aboard Silver Muse. Within a sophisticated and intimate setting, you’ll be able to enjoy cabaret-style performances as you sample small bites from an extensive menu. The dance floor will beckon anyone who’d like to take a twirl before bedtime.

Dine alfresco at Hot Rocks, on the pool deck, for the opportunity to cook your own meal right at the table using lava stones heated to 752 degrees. Place your meat, fish, or vegetable skewers on the grill stone and cook to perfection.

The expansive pool will be the focal point of Silver Muse’s open-air deck, which will also offer two platform Jacuzzis with bird’s-eye views of the entire deck as well as the horizon beyond. Of special note is the very private aft Jacuzzi, from which you will be able to watch the ship’s wake.

The grandeur and magic of music and theatre. The experience of being transported by performance. That satisfying feeling of seeing an evening show … Welcome to Venetian Lounge, a place where the arts of theatre and music meet with full-scale productions and feature films.

From early morning to late at night, the Panorama lounge offers everything you could wish for. A peaceful retreat that is the perfect place to break away to, a social place to meet and greet old friends, or an evening venue to partake in a cocktail as you sit back and watch the world go by. Sink into the plush seats and come evening, enjoy listening to the gentle sounds of a pianist, or the invigorating beats of our in-house DJ.

Silver Muse will set sail on her maiden voyage from Monte Carlo, Monaco on April 10, 2017. When she does, she will be the largest, most luxurious, and most technologically-advanced ship that the line has constructed to-date. She’ll also be the ship to carry the Silversea legacy well into the next decade.

Hello Carol,

We are back from Vietnam and ready to recommend that all of our friends plan a trip to travel there! All of the planned activities we did, and all of the places we stayed were wonderful. We were very pleased with Trails of Indochina and their service and would be happy to use them again! Also, the visa-upon-arrival service we used worked seamlessly, and I would recommend it to other travelers.

We especially were happy with the service from the tour guide that accompanied us through Hanoi and from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay and back. He was so personable and paid so much attention to the details of our travels that we really came to consider him a friend.

The Jasmine cruise on Ha Long Bay had great accommodations, delicious food, and well-planned activities. We were very glad that we stayed the two nights instead of the more popular one night option.

The Nam Hai resort was referenced to us as ‘Nirvana’ by our guide in Hoi An. He was right; the place was extremely luxurious. The two bedroom villa was gorgeous, and the attentiveness and friendliness of our butler, who showed us around town one day was much appreciated. The breakfasts here, and at the Metropole and on the cruise in fact, were all amazing and we were thrilled that they were included in our package.

I am so glad that we worked with you again to plan this trip. As you predicted, we were so glad to have had guides throughout our trip and to have the attention of guides and drivers for each transfer. Thank you for all of your hard work!
